Ecclestone Determined to Change the Points System!

ecclestone Ecclestone Determined to Change the Points System! The F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone’s determination shows no sign of waning. He is still campaigning for his new idea of the scoring system. The new proposed regulation calls for the substitution of the current point-based system with an Olympic-themed medals, and could come into effect at the Australian GP in March . This radical change brought forward by Ecclestone aims to spread the culture of overtaking among F1 drivers. Ecclestone argues that once the new system in place, the conservative driving style won’t bring any good to followers as the championship’s title will go to the driver with the most wins. Apparently, not only Ecclestone who thinks that the points system must go. He insists that all teams support his new vision paving the way for the approval at the next World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) in December.

“It’s going to happen,” The Associated Pressreported Ecclestone as saying at  recent press conference in London. “All the teams are happy. The reason this happens is that I get fed up with people talking about no overtaking. It’s just not on that someone can win the world championship without trying to win the race.”
